On Wednesday, July 17, Vancrest held an open house to show their new facility. The parking lot was full and there were many people taking tours and ending up in the cafeteria visiting and enjoying refreshments.
Vancrest purchased Dallas Lamb in 2011, now after much renovation Vancrest of Payne is ready for its first residents.
The building has been renovated with 24 assisted living apartments. Each apartment is a little different—being studios or two rooms. Some even contain huge walk-in closets. There are kitchenettes in all with microwaves and nice sized bathrooms, there is also mailboxes and door knockers for each room. There is a laundry room and a big bright cafeteria with lots of windows. There is a community room where residents can play Wii or card games. The front lounge holds a large TV with a fire place and lots of seating for visitors. There will be a lot of activities for the residents to choose from, you can be as social as you want.
Jon Bagley, Vice President of Vancrest, shared that the apartments will be Medicaid waiver or self-pay. There is still an unfinished wing. Vancrest is waiting to see what the community needs before finishing the wing. Vancrest has 12 facilities which includes: Alzheimer, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities.
Bagley is “pleased to be in Paulding County, trying to help out.”
Brian McCoughlin, Administrator of Vancrest of Antwerp, will also be Administrator of this new facility.
What a beautiful addition to the Payne community and Paulding County.
