Wild Animal Sighting: Bobcat, Mountain Lion?

The Paulding Sheriff's Office reported a sighting and needs your help:

Bobcat

Today we received what we believe to be credible information that a large cat has been seen running north of the intersection of Road 151 & Road 108 on the east side of the road located in Brown Township. Also, several days ago we received information that a resident nearby this location could hear what he believed to be a cat crying. The resident stated this did not sound like a “normal” cat.

“The animal was described as 40-50 pounds, approximately knee high, a long body and the color of a bale of straw. The description could be that of a bobcat or mountain lion. I am sending out this press release to inform the residents of this area what was reported. We have not had any reports of livestock being killed or property damage. However, residents might pay attention while outside, especially when small children are playing outdoors.”

“Our local Game Warden has been notified and is involved with this investigation. If anyone sees an animal as described above, do not take action yourself. Please call the Sheriff’s Office and report what you see.”
