Simpson, MarjorieMarjorie Evelyn (Stump) Simpson, 91, Attica, passed away at the Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Williamsport, IN, on Monday, September 29, 2014, at 1:10 a.m.

Marjorie was born in Oklahoma on April 17, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jean L. (Hardy) Stump. Marjorie was raised in Alvin, IL and attended Alvin High School. She later lived near Pence and Williamsport. In 1949 she moved east of Attica to Davis Township in Fountain County and resided on the farm, before moving to the nursing center.

Marjorie was a farm wife and assisted her husband on the farm. She had also worked as a cook at the Davis School.
She was a member of the Wabash Valley Bible Baptist Church in Attica; life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post # 3318 of Attica; member of the Ladies of the Moose Lodge and Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles Lodge both of Attica. She loved to play cards and yahtzee. She also was a great cook and baker. She was known for her coconut cream pies.

Marjorie married Melvin Eugene Simpson on March 10, 1940 in Williamsport, IN. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1989.

Marjorie leaves behind her daughter, Leona Kaye Rothrock, Williamsport; a son, Gerald L. (Lori) Simpson, Antwerp, OH; two sisters, Mary Jo (Jim) Ross, Arizona; Sue (Bob) Allison, Williamsport; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith VanReed; a son, Jimmy Simpson; a grandson, Chris Morgan; a granddaughter, Dusti Simpson; a great-grandson, Michael Howard; three sisters, Eva Marquess, Merle Jean Holler and Betty Irene Green.

Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Wednesday, Oct. 1st from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 2nd at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
