Early Voting Dates Changed for Ohio

VOTEThis edition of West Bend News (October 1) had the date beginning on September 30. Due to the Supreme Court ruling all of the dates in Ohio have changed to October 7.

Regarding today’s decision by the United States Supreme Court, all of the following may be attributed to Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted:

“Today’s ruling validates what I have long said, elections in Ohio should be run by the same rules in every county and Ohioans should have the right to make those rules through their elected representatives.

“We are gratified the United States Supreme Court has allowed Ohio’s early voting law to stand.

“I plan to implement state law and the voting schedule established by Democrats and Republicans at the local level, meaning Ohioans will have 28 days of early voting, including two Saturdays and a Sunday.”

“Ohioans can have confidence that it remains easy to vote and hard to cheat in our state.”

Paulding County’s Board of Elections have adjusted their schedule of hours to accomodate the ruling.

The weeks of October 20 and October 27 will be open 8am-5pm, not 8am-7pm as was published. Sunday, October 26 the Paulding BOE will not be open. Sunday, November 2nd it will be open with limited hours of 1-5pm. The two Saturdays before the election (October 25 and November 1) the hours will be 8am-4pm.
