State and Local Officials, Mayor McDonald along with the New Haven Chamber of Commerce welcome Fedex at the ribbon cutting on Saturday, October 25.

Mayor Terry McDonald was happy to announce the grand opening ribbon cutting of the brand new FedEx facility by US 30 and I-469. “It’s a great location. With the new US 24, US 30, 469 and I-69 so close, New Haven is the best location without having to drive through the city of Fort Wayne.” Said Terry.

Fedex already had a hub in New Haven but it had outgrown it and needed something bigger, better and automated. That’s exactly what this facility provides.

Jimmy Freeman, Senior Manager of the location said they opened on September 24. In the month since it opened there have been approximately 750,000 packages pass through the new facility.

Carlos Etheredge, Fedex Ground Distribution Manager, said he was excited to see another facility open that was fully automated. He oversees operations of 16 hubs throughout Indiana, Michigan and northwest Ohio.

Local businesses through the New Haven Chamber of Commerce contributed food to the event, making it a grand day. Many people attended from the community to tour the new location and show their support.
