Several Woodlan FFA members recently attended the SOAR, FFA conference held at the Indiana FFA Leadership Center located near Trafalagar, Indiana in Johnson County. SOAR is an acronym for Seek Opportunities and Achieving Results. This conference is for students who are beginning their FFA careers in grades 7–10. The SOAR curriculum is on a three year rotation. This year’s SOAR curriculum was FFA focused. Members were challenged in various leadership events throughout the conference. Sophi Schultz and Kayla Resor were nominated by the 150 FFA members attending from across the state of Indiana for the “Top Leader” conference award. SOAR is a 3-day conference held in October and directed by the Indiana State FFA Officer Team.
