Antwerp wins the sectional championship game
Early in the week Antwerp had a miraculous win against Miller City and went on to take Holgate on at Paulding for the Sectional Championship game March 1st. Watching Holgate play basketball is about like watching paint fade. The team plays “stall ball” and to play against them you pretty much do the same.
Two of the quarters the Tigers and Archers both scored the same points. It was the 2nd and third quarters that made the difference for Antwerp in the low scoring match.
Holgate nearly came back at one point in the fourth quarter, but they got into foul problems at the end of the game trying to keep possession.
Antwerp took the crown on their scoring 11 points in free throws in the fourth quarter alone with Ganger leading at 5, winning the game 29-24.
