Glen Duane Snyder, of Hamilton Lake, Indiana, died at St. Vincent Hospice on March 1, 2013.
Glen was the son of Nathan and Jessie Snyder of Antwerp, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Gale and Rita Robinson Mourey.
Glen is survived by his wife of 55 years, Coleen (Schaefer); siblings Ed, Fred, Wayne, and Ruth Anne Clem; three children, Dawn (Michael Clark), Michael “Duke” (Jane), and Patrick (Tammy); and eight grandchildren.
He retired from International Harvester/Navistar in Fort Wayne after 30 years.
Glen graduated from Tri-State College in 1955 and Antwerp High School in 1952.
In his retirement, he focused on things he loved: music, dancing, spending time with family, playing cards, and following sports.
Glen was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Fort Knox from 1957-1959.
Glen gave back to his community in many ways: the Scrip Program at St. Michael the Archangel in Waterloo, the Board of Works, and Adams Township Youth League president and coach in New Haven, and the Hospital Board in Paulding, Ohio.
He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Waterloo.
Visitation hours are from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Waterloo, followed by Mass at noon and lunch. A private service will be held graveside in Payne, Ohio, at the St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Snyder family requests donations to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
