Dolores E. Volkert, 97, of Harlan, IN died April 27, 2013 in at her residence.
Dolores was born in Orange Township, Hancock County, Ohio on December 10, 1915 to William and Leona (Lindsey) Businger. She was the last survivor of the Mark Center High School Class of 1934.
Surviving are her sons: Allan (Charlene) Volkert, Harlan; Quinten (Judy) Volkert, Fort Wayne; Son-in-law: Ernie Foshee, Harlan; Grandchildren: Monica (Jason) Esquivel, Paulding, OH; Aaron (Charissa) Volkert, Woodburn, IN; Kelly (Eric) Bell, Fort Wayne; There are five great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Also surviving is her sister, Estella Balser of Hicksville, OH and brother, William Businger of Monticello, IN.
Preceding Delores was her first husband Norvel Dean McKinley, and second husband DeWitt Volkert; Son Melvin McKinley, Daughter Judy Foshee; four sisters and six brothers.
Delores attended North Scipio United Methodist Church and was a Life Member of the Eastern Star (Past Matron).
Visitation is Thursday, May 2 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 17629 State Route 37, Harlan, IN 46743 and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Services are Friday, May 3, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at North Scipio United Methodist Church with Pastor Phil Abram officiating.
