Last month the West Bend News announced the hiring of a new Principal at Antwerp Elementary. The plans changed and ultimately the Board looked for another Principal. Superintendent Pat Ross said at the June 27 meeting they had looked through all of the applications and believed the board found a good choice in Tim Manz.
Tim is a Paulding County native. He graduated from Paulding High School in 2001. He then went on to Defiance College and completed his degrees in Education in 2005.
While he was working to become a teacher he student taught at Antwerp. He received his Administration Degree from Bowling Green State University in 2010, receiving his Administration License in 2011.
After Tim received his Bachelor degree in education he became teacher at Montpelier for two years and then went on to Fairview, teaching there six years. He loves teaching seventh grade science. Just ask him!
Tim is married to his wonderful wife Joy and they have two kids: two year old daughter Makenna and 6 month old Connor.
They attend Junction Apostolic Christian Church.
Tim explained, “I’m excited to start the next chapter of my educational career at the high achieving Antwerp Elementary School with this excellent staff!”
Also, The Board of Education made many other decisions for the school including: a new chiller for the HVAC system, Sealing and painting the parking lot and roads along with permanent speed dips, hiring a Band Director (Andrea Newell), Middle School Language Arts Teacher ( Jassmine Reyes), and purchasing 140 new computers, etc.
Carthy Barnett, Technology, also stated they will get more access points and up to 50 Mbps internet next year since they were maxing out several times at the current 20 Mbps bandwidth.
