– Day in the Park Just Around the Corner –
Antwerp’s 14th Annual Day In The Park is August 10. It’s just around the corner and you’ll be sad if you miss it! A sure place to be for hometown community fun!
The day will begin with a parade through the downtown at 10:00 in the morning.
The crowd will then gather at Riverside Park on East River Street. There will be activities of all kinds: Wheels in the Park cruise-in, Craft vendors, Food vendors, Information tents, Little Maumee Express train ride for kids, games and more.
The entertainment stage will include “Johnny Appleseed” the Ft. Wayne Tin Caps mascot, the Dance Dolls, Antwerp School’s Show Choir, ZooMobile from Ft. Wayne, Antwerp Community Band, The Old Crown Brass Band from Ft. Wayne. The day will conclude with a flag disposal ceremony around 4:00 in the afternoon. The public in invited to bring their retired flags and leave them at the Chamber tent for disposal.
The cruise-in is a staple of this park event. If you have any vehicle of interest, bring it to the park, Chuck and Dan Wiedman and their helpers will be happy to great you.
Crafters have reserved spots, but there are a few left. Call 419-258-1722 if you would like a space.
Parking will be available at the nearby United Methodist Church as well as the perimeter of the park. It is expected that there will also be parking at other location near the park.
Load up the family and friends! Come, spend the day! Bring your folding chairs and be comfortable. Everything you need will be there! There will be something of interest for everyone!
