It was a good but difficult game for both teams.
The tension was thick as the boys basketball game began at the Paulding stadium in Tuesday, January 14. Earlier in the evening the Raiders picked up a win against Paulding 53-35.
The varsity game was quite a bit more intense. The gymnasium was packed, including the upper levels. This game started with Paulding taking a small early lead in the first quarter at 14-12. Quarter number two was just as close with Wayne Trace taking the higher amount and finishing the half with the Panthers in the lead 27-26.
Tension mounted as the second half began. This was the big quarter for the Raiders as they knocked in 20 points.
The fourth quarter flew by as the game went fast and furious with the ball trading back and fourth. Once again the points only varied by two, with Paulding scoring the most.
The final score was 57-53 with Wayne Trace winning. One advantage the Raiders seemed to have was the ability to successfully long high speed passes across the court.
Wayne Trace Scorers: Ethan Linder 18, Corbin Linder 12, Colby Speice 7, Jake Arend 6, Devin Wenzlick 6, David Sinn 4, TJ Blackmore 4.
Paulding Scorers: Treston Gonzales 16, Julian Salinas 14, Guy Harder 12, Kyle Kauser 8, Gerod Harder 3.
Paulding score by quarter is amazingly consistent.
