The Paulding County Economic Development, Inc. Board of Director met on Tuesday January 15, 2014 with eight members present. The board approved new board member Sarah Noggle, as the representative from Ohio State University Extension to serve on the board director.
Sarah Noggle is a live long resident of Paulding County and became the Paulding County OSU ANR Extension Educator last October. She attended OSU and has a Master Degree in Education. She was formally the Ag Educator at the Paulding Exempted Village Schools and has been involved in many organizations and has worked on many projects in the Paulding County. Election of officer for 2014 were held with Randy Derck elected President representing Antwerp CIC; Harry Wiebe was elected Vice President representing Paulding CIC; John Kobee was elected Treasurer representing area Financial Institutions; and Linda Hodges was elected Secretary representing Oakwood Development Company.
The board approved the amended 2014 PCED budget. Executive Director Jerry Zielke reported that he now has sixteen active business projects he is working on in the county. Jerry updated the board on the plans for upgrading the PCED website in the coming year including the New Online County Business Directory. Jerry reported on a number of upcoming meetings which included “Timely Topics in Economic Development” to be held at NWSCC at Archbold on January 22, “A Free Small Business Basics 2014 Seminar” to be held at PCED office on January 23, and Northwest Ohio MEP Manufacturing Forum to be held at Holiday Inn French Quarter in Perrysburg on February 7 with featured speaker Dr. James West, Boeing Project Manager/MEP Technology Centers. His topic will be “Building Communities & Jobs for the 21st Century”. Pam Miller PCED office manager updated the board on the Annual Membership Drive progress.
