Hicksville recently saw changes to a local medical office. Dr. Ryan Bagley and his practice moved to Old Mill Road. This new location opened on December 21, 2013 and is right around the corner from the previous address at West High Street.
Ryan is 1998 graduate of Antwerp High School who went to Bowling Green University and received his degree. Going on to graduate school, he earned his doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine at the National University of Health Sciences in Chicago in 2005.
Dr. Bagley moved back to the area after graduating and worked with Dr. Brent Roth in Hicksville. After three years he bought the practice and continued in the same location, renting the office.
He found the space and changes was limited for modern updates and the thought of building his own establishment would be in the interest of his patients and his practice, and thus was born the idea of acquiring land for construction.
The recently built facility has space for new equipment and a large lobby, both to help his patients have a better experience before their appointment and for their treatment.
Talking with Ryan you will quickly learn he is a family-oriented man. His parents are Dave and Susan Bagley of Antwerp. His love interest was a young lady named Kayla Stoller, of the Wayne Trace area, whom he had met while on summer break from their junior year of college. She was hired at Antwerp Local Schools after graduating from Defiance and he moved to Chicago for his doctorates. They were married in January of 2006 after he had moved back and started working in Hicksville. They now have three children Briley (5), Hudsyn (3), and Carter (19 mos.)
“My mother worked for a chiropractor and I was a exposed to the chiropractic field when I was young.” Ryan explained how his interest in this field began. By the time he was in junior high he was certain this is what he wanted to pursue for his career.
Hicksville has been very welcoming to Dr. Bagley, “They have embraced us since we started. It’s a very open community. We get to know our patients very well.” Hicksville is not unfamiliar with chiropractic health care. He said, “There has been an active practitioner in this town since 1905.”
Technology continues to advance in chiropractic medicine. Other doctors have laid the groundwork and Dr. Bagley continues to build on it. With both of these factors, this area will continue to have a great resource and understanding of why chiropractic works.
Bagley Family Chiropractic is the first business on Old Mill Road and Ryan hopes more will come in. It will be a benefit to the Hicksville economy as well as to his office with the exposure.
“The blessings we have received with my wife and family including the love and support from my parents and siblings, including my in-laws has been incredible.” Ryan stated. His church family at Woodburn Missionary has been very supportive too.
