lucas_carnahan2Lucas James Carnahan, age 25, died as a result from injuries sustained on Sunday, January 26, 2014 near Defiance.

He was born January 6, 1989 in Paulding, Ohio, the son of Jerry and Pauline (Manz) Carnahan. He was engaged to be married this summer to Constance Gray who also died as the result of the accident. He was employed as a mechanic by Kennfeld Goup, Archbold, and attended Junction Apostolic Christian Church and Rose Hill Church of God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, and any outdoor activity.

He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Pauline Carnahan of Derby, Kansas; his paternal grandmother, Bernice “Buzz” Carnahan, Paulding; two brothers, Jason (Danielle) Carnahan, Paulding, and Nathan (Melissa) Carnahan, Andover, Kansas; two sisters, Liza (Chris) Scanland, Colorado Springs, CO, and Katie (fiancé, Joshua Womack) Carnahan, Derby, KS; and nieces: Lakin, Addison, Madeline, Taylor, Destiny, Kelsey, Kaylen and Abbie; and nephews: Owen, Coby, Caleb and Gavin.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Pete Carnahan, and maternal grandparents, Adam and Katie (Steffen) Manz.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:30PM Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the Junction Apostolic Christian Church with church clergymen officiating. Burial will follow in the Junction Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-5PM and 6-8PM Saturday, February 1 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding and one hour prior to services on Sunday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Apostolic Christian World Relief.
