Wayne Trace has the uncanny ability to control the crowd with their abilities!
Wayne Trace took on the Kalida Wildcats at the Palace on Saturday, February 1st. The Junior Varsity game was in the Raiders favor much of the game until Kalida tied it up the game at 30 with 3:35 left in 4th. The Wildcats ran away with their newfound momentum and won the game 42-33.
Following the initial match was Parents’ Night with the cheerleaders and the basketball players along with the parents introduced to the crowd, celebrating family at the games.
I’m not certain how or why the Raider boys do what they do, but they certainly get everyone excited, wondering what is going on when nearly the six and half minutes into the game and they cannot hit the broad side of the barn with the basketball and the guest team is up 11-2. Amazingly the team pulls back into the game and finish the quarter only down by 4.
It was the second quarter where the boys flexed their abilities with Luke Miller drilling 3-3 point baskets in a row, leading the charge for the whole team and the crowd was going wild! This team is one entertaining group to watch.
The second half went well with the third quarter piling up the points for the Raider Nation. In the fourth quarter Kalida outscored the home team, though not by enough to take the game. Wayne Trace took the win 63-57
Raider Points by Player: Corbin Linder 17, Luke Miller 13, Ethan Linder 11, Devin Wenzlick 8, Colby Speice 6, Jake Arend 4, Cole Shepherd 2, David Sinn 1, TJ Blackmore 1.
Score by Quarter:
