HARLAN:
Malinda E. Newhard, 70, of Harlan, died on February 14, 2014. Born on March 14, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Orville C. & Mary C. (Woods) Evard. Her hobbies and interest included supporting her children’s and grandchildren’s activities, geneology, antiques, Boy Scouts of America, gardening and rock collecting.
She is survived by her husband, Steven Dale Newhard Sr., son of the late N. Gladys Puryear and Miles E (Florence Johnson) Newhard; children, Steven (Dana) Newhard Jr. , Julie Benkenstein, Jill Newhard, James (Rebekeh) Newhard, Jared (Stephanie) Newhard, Jennie (Jonathan) Bothwell, and Jacob (Jessica) Newhard; 28 grandchildren and Six great-grand children; former Son-in-laws, William “Bill” Benkenstein and Spencer Pier; sister, Sonia (John, dec.) Plattner; brother-in-laws, Terry (Carol) Newhard and Edwin (Teri) Newhard.
Funeral service was 1 pm Monday February 17, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 5401 St Joe Road, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior.
