The Antwerp boys basketball team previously beat Holgate, moving on to compete against Ayersville for the sectional championship.

The first quarter started with Antwerp, as the guest, getting the ball and shortly after the jump ball, Kaden Brumett scored his first of two three-point baskets. Antwerp took an early lead, looking tight against the Pilots. Ayersville within a minute left, however, more than doubled their lead over the Archers. Antwerp’s Colton Stout was able to score a foul shot finishing the quarter at 14-8.

The second quarter was not as rough on the guest team. The boys held the pilots for the most part, but the Archers failed to gain the traction they needed to get the upper hand. The first half finished at 31-22.

The second half of the game was much closer thanks to Sam Williamson who scored an impressive 3 – 3 point shots adding to his 23 point total. Ayersville only had three more points than Antwerp for the entire half. The game finished the season for the Archers at 66-54.
