HEAVY SNOW EXPECTED LATE TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY,

MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD THE AREA TUESDAY NIGHT AND CONTINUE INTO WEDNESDAY AS A STRENGTHENING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM TRACKS EAST THROUGH FAR SOUTHERN INDIANA AND OHIO. PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN AS A PERIOD OF RAIN BEFORE TRANSITIONING
TO SNOW FROM NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS WEDNESDAY. A PERIOD OF SLEET IS ALSO EXPECTED, ESPECIALLY DURING THE TRANSITION. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE FORECAST TO GENERALLY RANGE BETWEEN 5 TO 9 INCHES ALONG AND NORTH OF ROUTE 6, WITH LESSER AMOUNTS TO THE SOUTH. SUSTAINED NORTH WINDS OF 15 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH WILL CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW AND HAZARDOUS TRAVEL TO THE REGION ON WEDNESDAY.
