On February 19, 2014, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the Village of Antwerp. During the traffic stop deputies identified what they believed to be products for the manufacturing of methamphetamine in plain view.
The investigation revealed a mobile meth lab in the vehicle. Deputies placed Jonathon Wells in custody at the scene for Illegal Assembly or Possession of Chemicals for the Manufacture of Drugs. Deputies continued their investigation and eventually presented the case to the Grand Jury which returned Indictments against Wells and the passenger in the vehicle at the time of the initial stop, Amber N. Clevinger.
