PAULDING:
Richard J. Goings, age 92 died Thursday, March 20, 2014 comfortably at his home in Paulding, Ohio, surrounded by family.
Richard was born June 18, 1921 in Paulding County to Lula (Vena) and James Goings. He was a graduate of Paulding High School and a Veteran of WWII. After serving his country, he moved to Toledo, Ohio, where he made his residence for more than 50 years. In 1950 he married Ada E. Glenn who preceded him in death. A retiree of the Department of the Army and the US Postal Service Richard loved sports and was a great fan of the Ohio Buckeyes. An Avid golfer, he was a member of the Midwestern Golf Club and the Young Senior Bowling Team both of Toledo, Ohio.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews, family, and friends, among them a great nephew, Allen Davis, Toledo; two nieces, Roberta Hardman, Paulding, and Margaret Ann Crutchfield; and a great niece Tara Ingol, both of Latty, OH.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Alice Crutchfield and an infant; five brothers: Leo, Howard, Roy, Ray, Robert; one niece and four nephews.
Military graveside services will be conducted by VFW Post #587 at 2PM Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Grover Hill.
Visitation will be 11 AM until 1PM at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.
