The PCH Fitness Center decided to put out the challenge for biggest loser again in January 2014. It began on January 6th with 25 people deciding to try to win a money prize. The people in the challenge collectively lost over 168 pounds in the 12 weeks of the challenge! An additional bonus this year were educational classes held for six weeks.
The big winner this time was Sis Stauffer who lost 13.4% of her body weight. She works in the PT department at Paulding County Hospital. Coming in second is Nikki McClure, a PCH nurse, who lost 12.2% of her body weight and third is Teresa Breedlove, Respiratory Therapist, lost 11.7% of her body weight. All together, these three lost a total of 87 pounds. The top three took home a total of $375 in prize money.
Obesity is a huge health problem in the United States and Paulding County Hospital is gearing up to deal with this health concern.
