Heritage Jr/Sr High Valedictorian – Kayla A. Copper
Kayla earned a 11.795 GPA. She plans to attend Indiana University – Bloomington to study Biochemistry; then pursue a medical degree.
“I want to help and make a difference in other people’s lives. I also really enjoy my science classes”.
Kayla’s extracurricular activities include: Varsity soccer, School musical, choir, National Honor Society, Work ethics program; Community activities: HAAA volunteer, Junior Servant at Camp Lutherhaven, Tutoring; Hobbies: Soccer, Reading; Awards/Recognitions/Scholarships: Principal’s list, Top Ten, IU Pell Promise Award, 1st Year Indiana Scholars Award, IU Hutton Honors Scholarship, Provost Scholarship
Insights on high school experience: “I believe high school is the time for people to try new things and discover what they want to do with their futures”.

Heritage Jr/Sr High Salutatorian – Stephanie D. Cenko
Stephanie earned a 11.764 GPA. She plans to attend Ohio Northern University to study PharmD.
“I have always wanted to help people by being in the health field and then I learned that I love chemistry so pharmacy combined both of those.”
Stephanie’s extracurricular activities: Soccer; Community activities: Volunteer at Dupont Hospital; Hobbies: Soccer, Reading; Awards/Recognitions/Scholarships: Principal’s list, Top Ten, Presidential Scholarship, Out of State Travel award, Scholar recognition award
Insights on high school experience: “Don’t be too set on a career, your interests and abilities can change so be open to exploring your options.”

New Haven High Valedictorian – Daniel Romary
Daniel earned a 12.196 GPA. He plans to attend Purdue University to study Aerospace Engineering.
“I have always been fascinated by space and flight, and I enjoy math, science, and problem-solving”.
His extracurricular activities: Student Council President, SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions), Principal’s Advisory Cabinet Founder, Golf Captain, CANstruction, National Honor Society, Drama Club, Key Club, Academic Decathlon; Community activities: Project READS volunteer tutor, Lifetime Sports Academy volunteer golf instructor; Hobbies: Golfing, Robotics; Awards/Recognitions/Scholarships: Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen, Purdue Presidential Scholarship
Insights on high school experience: “Time management has been a very important tool throughout high school. I urge future students to be self-disciplined and manage their time wisely, even when other options are more enjoyable. Hard work pays off in the end”.

New Haven High Salutatorian – Armando Luja Salmeron
Armando earned a 12.057 GPA. He plans to attend Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to study Computer Science.
“I love problem solving, developing new ideas, and of course – math. Also, the field is growing very quickly and has an endless number of opportunities.”

Insights on high school experience: “High School can be very stressful at times, especially when you have to go through the week with less than 5 hours of sleep a day. ‘Why am I doing this to myself?’ I would ask, but now I know it was worth the struggle. It made me a better person physically, mentally and emotionally.”

Woodlan Jr/Sr High Valedictorian – Jared Emenhiser
Jared earned a 11.76 GPA. He plans to attend IUPUI to study Exercise Science.
“This field is just extremely interesting to me and I know that I will enjoy it.”
His extracurricular activities include: Baseball, National Honors Society, Football; Community activities: The Fantasy of Lights, Cornerstone Youth Center, Bell Ringing; Hobbies: Sports, watching movies, riding bikes, being with friends/family; Awards/Recognitions/Scholarships: DAR Good Citizens Scholarship, IUPUI Valedictorian Scholarship
Insights on high school experience: “Like everything, it had it’s up and down, but overall I’m going to miss all of my friends and teachers. I would not have wanted to go anywhere else.”
Jared’s parents are Gregory and Sandra Emenhiser.
Woodlan Jr/Sr High Salutatorian – Cassandra Lomont
Cassandra earned a 11.519 GPA. She plans to attend University of St. Francis to study Nursing.
“I have had many trips to the hospital for various reasons and had great care. All those nurses inspired me to give back to my community.”
Her extracurricular activities include: Track, Show Choir, Cross Country, Wrestling Manager, National Honor Society, Service Club; Community activities: Volunteer at St. Louis Besancon Church; Hobbies: Certified Nurse Aide, Runner and love to read; Awards/Recognitions/Scholarships: ACAC Track Conference winner, Nominated for the Wendy’s Heisman Scholarship and the Indiana Academic All Star Scholarship, attended IVY Tech during Summer 2013
