The Wayne Trace Softball team once again travelled to Bryan on Friday, May 23 for the Championship game after defeating North Central on Thursday. Hicksville won against Edgerton on the same field in the first game, pitting the to Green Meadows teams against one another.
Wayne Trace pitcher, Addison Baumle was on top of her game knocking out 9 batters in strikes alone.
The first inning began with neither team scoring, but the game changed for the better for the Lady Raiders by scoring three runs in the 2nd inning.
The third inning the Lady Aces retaliated with 2 runs and Wayne Trace adding only 1 leaving the score at 4-2 for the start of the fourth inning. Wayne Trace scored one more run in the fourth. The rest of the game was produced no points for either team, finishing at 5-2 and the Raiders taking home the District Trophy.

Both teams worked hard to get this far for their 2014 season. The Lady Aces finished with a very good 16-4 record, while the Lady Raiders continue on with a 20-7 record.
Wayne Trace (20-7) will play New Riegel (23-4) at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28 in Findlay.
