For Immediate Release (May 28, 2014) The theme for this year’s John Paulding Days is Music Through The Ages. The Chamber Board decided it would be a great theme for area groups to celebrate the music they love most. Executive Director of the Paulding Chamber Erika Willitzer says they’re already hearing how folks are decorating their parade floats like the 1980’s and a few have stated they’re decorating for the “Roaring 20’s”.
The parade will be on Thursday, June 5th at 7 pm like past years and the parade route will be the same as last year too. It will start at Williams Street, go right on Wayne, then left on Perry and then left onto Williams again.
The two day festival located in downtown Paulding will be family focused with free music on the courthouse lawn and at the Herb Monroe Community Park too. Plenty of craft & food vendors will be situated in the downtown area and families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to sit and enjoy the music.
Kids can enjoy the 2nd Annual Courthouse Candy Drop going on June 5th at 9 p.m. and also on June 6th at 6 p.m. Candy is spread all over the courthouse lawn and kids can go and pick it all up. It’s quite the scene! Parents are strongly encouraged to bring their own bags. Face painting, kid crafts, & of course rides will all be going on during the two days.
Some of the other events include: A craft fair on the square, a corn hole tournament put on by Relay Team Marathon Moms & Open Mic. Anyone wanting to display talents can contact Executive Director Erika Willitzer at 419-769-3011 or email at PauldingChamber@gmail.com
This is a community event that allows us all to come together to kick off the summer season. We hope you’ll bring your family out to enjoy this great tradition in Paulding.
