DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College recently announced scholarship awards for the 2013-2014 academic year. Awards are given to students in the following categories – Presidential, Dean’s, Pilgrim, Trustee, and Achievement – with dollar amounts ranging from $9,000 to full tuition. Additionally, students can be awarded a $2,000 Service Leadership Award recognizing their commitment to service in their community, and the DC Marching Band and Music Talent Awards for students excelling in music performance. Students must attend the college’s fall or spring Scholarship Day event to qualify for scholarships.
Among those who have been awarded and have accepted a Defiance College scholarship are the following area students:
Bradly Matson, Paulding, was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship. Bradly, son of David and Donna Matson, is a student at Paulding High School and involved with National Honor Society, Boy Scouts, band, Science Olympiad, Quiz Bowl and soccer.
Shelly Stafford, Paulding, was awarded the Achievement Scholarship. Shelly, daughter of Melissa Stafford and Cory Stafford, is a student at Paulding High School.
Kandee Manson, Paulding, was awarded the Trustee Scholarship, Service Leadership Award and DC Marching Band Scholarship. Kandee, daughter of Dan and Jamy Manson, is a student at Paulding High School and involved with band, volleyball, softball, 4-H, Junior Fair Board, National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
