HAVILAND:
Charles Henry Fast, age 89 died Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Glenn Park of Defiance, Defiance, Ohio.
He was born June 5, 1925 in Paulding County, Ohio, the son of William C. and Marie H. (Stiebeling) Fast. On February 23, 1947 he married June Gerber, who preceded him in death on October 19, 2009. He was a lifetime self-employed farmer retiring in 2012. He was a member of John Paulding Historical Society; Gideon’s International; and a member of the former Baptist Church of Haviland.
He is survived by a son, Robert (Jan) Fast, Sanford, FL; a daughter, Barbara (Seth) Shelton, Shelby, N.C.; a brother, William (Gloria) Fast, Haviland, OH; two sisters, Barbara (Richard) Reichter, Andover, MA and Marie (Mike) Baughman, Columbia S.C.; two grandchildren, Angela Myers and Joshua (Heather) Shelton, and three great grandchildren, Brady, Alyson and Blake Shelton.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a brother, John.
Funeral services will be conducted 11AM Tuesday, July 15 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, with Pastor Joe Shouse officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Creek Cemetery, Haviland.
Visitation will be 5-9PM Monday, July 14 at Den Herder Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
