Latty, Ohio—On August 1, 2014, deputies went to 225 Second Street in the Village of Latty looking for a wanted person. While speaking with a subject, later identified as Sammie L. Jones, age 30, another male subject was seen walking from a shed with what was identified as a “one-pot” meth lab. The second subject, later identified as Jason C. Kremer, age 31, fled from the scene and a foot-chase ensued. Kremer was apprehended a short distance from the residence along with the suspected lab.
The investigation revealed Kremer’s children were present in the home at the time the meth lab was discovered, therefore enhancing the criminal charges. Jones and Kremer were taken into custody and each held on charges of Illegal Manufacturing of Drugs, a 1st Degree Felony, and Illegal Assembly or Possession of Chemicals for the Manufacturing of Drugs, a 2nd Degree Felony. Kremer also faces one count of Endangering Children, a 3rd degree Felony.
The Paulding Fire Department and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office assisted at the scene.
