Late Last evening, August 5th, a fire started in the backside of the building in the apartments above the Oasis Bar and Grill in Antwerp. Fire Departments from Hicksville and Payne were called in to assist at the scene.
Doug Bragg, owner of the Oasis, said “The Fire Departments did a great job of targeting the flames. It could have been much worse.”
It’s not known exactly what started the fire. There was damage to the building, both to the apartments and the business below, but thankfully no one was injured and the fire was quickly contained.
Restoration is currently going on now and the popular restaurant will reopen soon after cleanup is finished.
