Peggy B. White, age 91, died Monday, August 11, 2014 at CHP Hospice, Defiance, OH.
She was born in Evansport, Ohio on February 7, 1923 the daughter of Melvin and Leota (Bodenbender) Cubberly. She lived in Defiance, Ohio until 1931 and then moved to Cecil, Ohio where she spent eight happy years. In 1939 the family moved to Paulding where she was part of the first Paulding High School Band. After graduating in 1941 she worked at Greers Drug Store, Grizzley Manufacturing and Paulding County Hospital, retiring as supervisor of housekeeping in 1984 after 16 years of service. On February 10, 1951 she married Charles “Bud” White, who preceded her in death in 1991 one month after their 40 anniversary. She was a member of Paulding First Christian Church.
She is survived by her sons, Chad (Bertha) White, Bloomingdale, IL, Mel (Jennifer) White, Oakwood, OH, Austin (Louise Doll) White, Paulding, and Larry Coons, Shreveport, Louisiana; a daughter, Susan (Dennis) Towne, Defiance, OH; twelve grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Frances Korn, Helen Hoffman and Ellen Jarrett, daughter in law, Nancy Coons, granddaughter, Teresa (Coons) Rizen, and grandson, Michael White.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding with Rev. Paul Biery officiating. Burial will follow in St Paul Cemetery, Paulding.
Visitation will be 4-8PM Friday, August 15 at Den Herder Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services on Saturday.
