WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) will host a cybersecurity seminar at Defiance College tomorrow. The event, which is held in coordination with the FBI and Findlay’s CentraComm, focuses on protecting one’s personal identity and business online. It also includes presentations that provide measures to prevent theft of intellectual property, phishing and spear phishing, social network attacks, mobile device attacks, and data leakage.
“In today’s technological world, threats to our personal identity and businesses are around every corner,” said Latta. “In 2013, there was a 62 percent increase in the number of data breaches, costing hardworking Americans almost $113 billion. It is paramount that we have the tools we need to protect ourselves and our businesses online. Therefore, I encourage all residents and small business owners to attend this event.”
