The Western Buckeye ESC Governing Board held its regular monthly Board meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the Van Wert ESC office. Board President Mr. Ron Treece welcomed Board members and school personnel to the meeting.
Treasurer Kim Jones and Assistant Treasurer Linda Clark reviewed the current financial reports, investments and the monthly expenditures with the Board.
Consent Items – WBESC:
A. Motion to accept the resignation of Britny Keister, effective at the end of the 2013-2014 school year.
B. Motion to approve the following contracts/agreement as presented, effective at the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year:
• Maria Clawson – 2-year Administrative – Special Education Director
• Amelia Wannemacher – 1-year part-time limited Teaching – Intervention Specialist
• Sara Krick – 1-year limited Teaching – Intervention Specialist
• Rebecca Matthews – 1-year limited 4-hr/day- Paraprofessional
• Chelsea Zeedyk – 1-year limited – Paraprofessional/OTA
• Kristina Figgins – 1-year part-time by timesheet – OTA

C. Motion to approve the following contract revisions, effective at the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year:

• George Dougal – from 144 days to 125 days- Director of Student Services
• Cheryl Mongold – from part-time to 184 days – Special Needs Aide
• Pam Williamson – from part-time to full time – Intervention Specialist
D. Motion to approve the Job Description for Paraprofesional/Occupational Therapy Assistant.
E. Motion to approve the NEOLA policies as presented
F. Motion to approve the 2014-2014 substitute teacher and paraprofessional aide list and authorize the Superintendent to approve future additions if all requirements are met.
G. Motion to approve the 2014-2015 bus and van driver lists for certification and authorize the Superintendent to approve future drivers if all requirements are met
H. Motion to approve the 2014-2015 school year Western Buckeye ESC calendar of closures.
I. Motion to approve the 2014-2015 Western Buckeye ESC/Allen County non-certified salary schedule and the revised 2014-2015 Western Buckeye ESC non-certified salary schedule.
J. Motion to change the date of the regular governing board meetings to the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. and alternate between the Paulding and Van Wert ESC offices.
The Board meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m. with no additional Board action. The next regular Governing Board meeting of the Western Buckeye Educational Service Center will be on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Paulding ESC office.
