Both teams played well, impressing their fans.
The football game at Paulding began the night with the boys walking down the 50 yard line, introduced to the crowds with their parents. The Panthers were competing in the second ever game against Antwerp and this time at their home turf.
It started off with Paulding receiving the kickoff from the Archers. Within 10 seconds the Panthers posted their first touchdown by Preston Ingol. The game heavily went in Paulding’s favor, who quickly racked up 19 points before Antwerp’s Nick Barnhouse scored their first for the night in the second quarter.
At half time the score was 26-7 with the Paulding fans pretty happy. Before the bands played the race between, ketchup, mustard, hotdog, and bacon finished with bacon taking the lead. Antwerp started with their band with Paulding following. Both performed well for the listeners.
The third quarter started similar to the first quarter except it was Antwerp’s Justice Clark driving the reception ball to the end zone. He was tackled by Paulding’s Darion Rowe at the one yard line. Antwerp followed up with a touchdown by Clark and this is the only quarter where the Archers outscored the home team, due earning 2 points after the touchdown.
In the fourth quarter Paulding added two more goals to it’s final score, putting it over Antwerp for a final score of 45-15.
Paulding’s touchdowns were scored by Corbin Edwards, Branson Minck, Preston Ingol, James Mourey, Cameron Doster, and Tyler Nichols.
