The Warriors had another good win, this time at home.
The Bowman Leadership Academy travelled from Gary, Indiana to compete against the Warriors at the Woodlan homecoming game on Friday, September 19.
The evening started with a fun time, having each class present the floats they made for the parade. Music of the Ages was the theme for the night.
The game started with Woodlan’s Rick Ehle scoring the first touchdown with 8:35 in the first quarter. The point Mitchell VanBroklin ran the ball in to add two more points to eight. Following this at 6:49 left, Woodlan’s VanBroklin runs in the end zone with the ball for another touchdown and Quentin Graber kicked the ball through the field goal for another point. Woodlan finished the first quarter in the lead 15-0.
The second quarter started with Woodlan’s VanBroklin running 9 yards adding to the home teams total with another two points by the same. The Thea Bowman Academy Eagles scored their first touchdown by player number 1, I. Cole and the half finished at 23-6.
At half time the Woodlan Homecoming Court was announced as each couple made their way on the track in front of the fan stands. The King and Queen were announced as Mr. Shawn Kitzmiller and Miss Kendra Graber.
The third quarter added two more touchdowns for the Warriors, one from Kitzmiller and the other from VanBrocklin.
Fourth quarter brought about a touchdown for Woodlan by Jeremiah Cassell. The Eagles also added 6 points by I. Cole for the final score of 43-12 with Woodlan winning their homecoming game.
