James L. Delagrange, 71, died Sunday (September 21, 2014) at his home in rural Woodburn, IN. He was born in Woodburn on January 27, 1943 to the late Joseph & Anna Delagrange. He married Marie Eicher on June 22, 1963 in Harlan, IN.
Surviving include his wife, Marie Delagrange of Woodburn, IN; Son, Jeff (Stacey) Delagrange of New Haven, IN; Daughters, Jayne (Kabi) Delagrange Newala of Columbus, OH; Melissa (Chris) Freehling of Spencerville, IN; Daughter-in-law, Christi (Todd) Delagrange-Hakes of Greentown, IN; Grandchildren, Jenna, Jared (Adelina), Jaclyn, Jordan, Caitlyn, Jaylen, Malachi, Emmanuel, Isaac, Joseph and Ebenezer; Brothers, Marvin (Waneda) Delagrange of Grabill, IN; Kenny (Louise) Delagrange of Woodburn, IN, David Delagrange of Woodburn, IN; Sister, Lucille Stutzman of Ft. Wayne, IN
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Delagrange, a sister, Barbara Bontrager and a brother, Benjamin Delagrange.
James was the sole owner since 1974 of James L. Delagrange Construction, Inc. in Woodburn, IN. He was a member of North Leo Mennonite Church in Leo, IN and loved singing bass, golf, softball, antique cars & tractors, croquet and spending time and playing cards with his kids and grandkids.
Calling will be held on Wednesday (Sept. 24) and Thursday (Sept. 25) from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at North Leo Mennonite Church in Leo, IN. Services will be held on Friday at 10 am with calling one hour prior at the church. Pastor Marshall Anderson & Nephew Rob Eicher will officiate. Burial in Yaggy Cemetery.
