HERB MONROE COMMUNITY PARK DEDICATION
TO BE HELD SEPT. 30TH
The Paulding Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the long awaited Herb Monroe Community Park Dedication. It will happen Tuesday, Sept. 30th at 10 a.m. This project began as a dream and with the help of two Leadership in Action Classes sponsored by the Paulding Chamber, it became a reality. The Village of Paulding acquired the property from Certified Gas Station located at the corner of Jackson and Main in Downtown Paulding and then leased it to the Chamber to beautify. The beautification process has taken over two years and there is absolutely no way the park would be almost finished without the generous donations of community members.
The public is invited to come and participate during the ceremony on Sept. 30th. The Paulding High School Marching Band will kick things off by marching from the school to the park and performing several songs in memory of the late Herb Monroe. Also, several folks that knew Herb best will say words about his life and legacy. One of those individuals will be Herb’s close friend and author Jane Nice. She will also be on location to sign copies of her newly released book called…”Married to Mille…The Humble Life of Herb Monroe”.
This project has been a pride project. It’s taken a corner that looked like an eyesore and turned it into a place where families and friends can enjoy each other and create new memories. Please come and attend this joyous event and help the Paulding Chamber remember the man that inspired us to be more and to want more for our community.
