The Raiders added up their offensive measurement with an incredible 645 yards while Ayersville had less than half at 298.
It was homecoming at Wayne Trace the night they took on Ayersville at home. The Pilots had a record of 4-0 when the game started, whereas the home team had a record of 3-1.
Who knew the outcome? The fans of both sides were concerned for their teams. The boys on both sides were prepared for an intense game.
The Raiders received the ball first, and on the first time down Wayne Trace scored a touchdown with Tyler Showalter running the ball in. The second touchdown came quickly at 7:38 left by Showalter and, the score added up to 12-0, finishing the first quarter.
Ayersville’s Dauson Dales passed to Jaylon Martinez to post the Pilots first points. The next two sets of scores added to the Raider Nation board were also by Showalter.
Jake Dingus scored the next touchdown for the home team after receiving a pass from Showalter with 1:22 left in the half, moving to halftime with Wayne Trace in the lead at 32-16.
David Sinn added the next points for the Raiders after receiving a pass from Showalter. Nick Glass kicked the ball for the point after. Sinn also scored the last touchdown in the third quarter.
Ayersville’s Jake Lamb and Dakota Schweitzer each added points in the fourth quarter. Wayne Trace’s Daron Showalter got the next touchdown, receiving a pass from Tyler. And the final 6 points were posted by Tyler Showalter in a 15 yard run with Nick Mansfield getting the last point of the game on a field goal kick and the game went to the Raiders.
