It’s Homecoming Week in New haven

On Friday, October 3rd, 2014 the New Haven Athletic Department and the Ignite Booster Club invite all New Haven residents, both past and present, to return to New Haven for the annual Homecoming Game which this year pits the New Haven Bulldogs against the Belmont Braves with kick-off set for 7 pm.

The events leading up to kick-off will last all week long, with the main attractions being a Powder Puff football game taking place on Wednesday evening beginning at 7 pm and a pep rally at the high school at 1:55 pm on Friday. Following the pep rally, the annual Homecoming Parade will take place through downtown New Haven beginning at 4:30 pm on Friday. The parade will begin at St John the Baptist Catholic School and end at New Haven High School located at 1300 Green Road in New Haven.

At 5:30 pm, a variety of fun-fill tailgating activities will be taking place in the grassy area near the stadium. Everyone is invited to tailgate in the parking lot and partake in the activities and exhibits as they are so inclined.

More than 20 local businesses are expected to participate in the pre-game tailgate Business Expo, including car dealerships, area hospitals and restaurants. The New Haven Police Department’s K-9 unit will be on-site, providing demonstrations and exhibitions of the fine K-9 officers from 5-7 pm. The New Haven-Adams Township Fire Department will also be on-site with fire trucks on display for the public to view.

Many entertainment options for tailgaters will be available during the entire game, from a dunk tank to bouncy houses to a photo booth. Those with a sweet tooth will also be able to indulge in Yum-Yum’s Yogurt, who will have a trailer on-site near the concession stand for game goers.

Due to the forecast of possible inclement weather, please plan to keep informed of any changes to our schedule of events by following New Haven Athletics on Twitter (@NHBulldogs), on Facebook (New Haven Bulldog Athletics) or by viewing our website, www.NewHavenAthletics.com.
