Emerson has worked with businesses both large and small throughout her career. Most recently she was the Recruitment and Community Outreach Team Leader for the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio’s Lima Region. Prior to that she spent nearly ten years at the Allen Soil and Water wearing many different hats from working on Conservation Works of Improvement projects to education and public information.

“My hope is to use my experiences so far in my life to move Paulding forward. I would like to see more jobs come to Paulding, to fill empty store fronts and to see the agricultural community become more involved in the Chamber,” said Emerson. “I am so thrilled to be in a job where I can use my skills in organization, marketing, and recruitment to make Paulding a better place for everyone.”

Emerson moved to Paulding in June when her husband was appointed as the pastor of the Paulding United Methodist Church. She has three children, two in college and one living in Hamilton, Ohio.

“I fell in love with Paulding when I started working for Girl Scouts–it was one of the counties I worked with when I first started there. I loved the village and people and was so shocked when we were told that would be where we would move. Roger and I immediately drove up here so I could show him around town!”

Emerson loves to sing in the choir at her church and has been busy preparing a free festival at the church during Trick or Treat. She is also excited to be the leader of a brand new Brownie troop at Paulding Elementary and a member of the Paulding Library Book Club.

Marsha Yeutter, Chamber Board President, states that the Chamber Board is excited to have Peggy as the new director. After conducting other interviews the hiring committee felt united in offering the Executive Director position to Peggy. Yeutter quoted, “Over the last three years under Erika Willitzer’s leadership, the Paulding Chamber has turned around and is a big part of the Paulding Community. We feel Peggy will bring a fresh pair of eyes and continue, and even expand, the work that the board has accomplished in the last couple of years.”

Yeutter mentioned that Peggy was “thrown into the fire” since her first week as the new Executive Director was the week of the Flat Rock Creek Fall Festival. “Peggy observed Erika for the first part of the week and dove right into all details as soon as the event was over. She has been instrumental with other large events and seemed to take the weekend with a positive attitude and with confidence. We look forward to a great future of growth and awareness with Peggy as our new Executive Director.”
Chamber members also will have an opportunity to meet the new director at a Chamber
Business After Hours from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Fraternal Order
