Three High School students recently took time out of their busy lives to give back to the community.
Samantha Saalfrank and Hadley Decker of New Haven, and Brooke Imel of Leo had a blast spending eight hours working on a Habitat for Humanity home, helping to build a home for someone in need. The girls were able to meet the new owner of the home, and the homeowner was so appreciative of the girl’s work on the project she plans to come to the New Haven vs. Leo basketball game to get a group picture.
According to the organizers of the Habit for Humanity project, Saalfrank, Hadley and Imel are a fine example to other youth and appreciated the time the girls put in on the house. The organizers also said they would warmly welcome the girls back, along with anyone else who would like to come and help. The girls said they would like to return soon to work on a future Habitat for Humanity project.
