It didn’t take long for the Bulldogs to gain an early lead over the Warriors. The boys basketball game began at 7:30 for Woodlan’s closest competion. This game took place the day before Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 26 at the Warrior basketball court.
New Haven took an early lead at 9-0 before Woodlan posted any to the scoreboard with only 5 minutes left in the first quarter. By the end of the half it was 38-15. The Warriors boys struggled to get in rebound territory after the shots.
New Haven’s basketball team has a new coach after legendary Al Gooden moved on to another school. Bruce Stephens who has coached alongside Gooden for 18 years is taking the reigns for the Bulldogs.
The first night looked good for Stephens has his team pulled the game off in a substantial way.
The second half was better for the home team with Triston Moses leading the team on the scoreboard.
One thing that can be said for Woodlan is Coach Randall’s team was able to continue building their score every quarter. By the fourth quarter the deficit was too great for the Warriors to overcome even with the scoring spree at the end, giving New Haven the first win of the season.
