The Antwerp Community Band cordially invites all of the West Bend News’ readers to our annual Christmas concert. The holiday concert is our gift to the community, so we consider your presence as the best thing we could possible wish for! We will give two performances of the concert, the first at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, in the Auditeria at Antwerp Local School, and an encore performance on Tuesday, December 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Huber Opera House in Hicksville. As always, there is no charge for admission.
As we all know, the Christmas season is a feast for the senses – since you are undoubtedly busy creating memories that appeal to sight, smell, taste and touch, let the Antwerp Community Band help to heighten the festive mood with Christmas sounds! In this concert’s selections, we’ve tried to capture some of the many different musical moods of the season: the “Sussex Mummers’ Christmas Carol” is deeply calm and sonorous; the “Fantasia on Kingsfold” is a more modern English carol; there are contemporary classic holiday songs in the medleys “The Great Songs of Christmas” and “Christmas Music for Winds”, as well as versions of the traditional carols “Oh Holy Night” and “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear”, not to mention some “Grinch-ly” music and that seasonal classic “Sleighride”! Please join us at one or both concert performances and help us to celebrate with the joyous sounds of this Christmas season!
