Woodlan FFA teams finished 2nd and 5th in the State FFA Entomology Career Development Event held on the campus of Purdue University, West Lafayette. The Entomology CDE includes correctly identifying insect specimens, listing the Order in which the insect belongs, and answering quiz questions about insects, pesticides and entomology in general. Kaitlyn Castleman placed 1st in the FFA division followed by 7th place finisher Sophi Schultz, and 17th place finisher, Janae Sowles. Eric Kurtz placed 16th in the FFA division followed by 20th place finisher Mike Singer, 22nd place finisher, Matt Singer, and 26th place finisher, Zach Wietfeldt.
A total of 33 FFA teams with 157 total members competed for a chance of winning the first place state banner and one of the top five team plaques.
