PAULDING:
Robert E. Vance, age 70 died Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert, Ohio.
He was born March 12, 1944 in Paulding County, Ohio, the son of Dale C. and Marie W. (Knapp) Vance. On January 30, 1968 he married Linda D. Elston who preceded him in death on March 30, 2007. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Viet Nam Conflict and retired in 1997 from Ohio Art, Bryan, Ohio.
He is survived by three children: Barry (Dorrean) Vance, and Rob (Rachel) Vance, both of Paulding, and Nancy (Taylor) McDonald, of Baton Rouge, LA; his siblings: Connie Starkey, Bryan, Janet (Bill) Larson, Ft. Wayne, Bill (Patty) Vance, and David Vance, both of Paulding; nine grandchildren: Isaak, Becca, Olin, Bill, Mandy, Kylee, Kaleb, Hannah and Logan.
He is also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark; a brother, Tom and a sister, Patty Darrow.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Saturday, February 21 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding County, with military graveside rites accorded by VFW Post #587.
Visitation will be 4 – 8 PM Friday, February 20 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, and one hour prior to services on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Paulding County Senior Center.
