William Jay Jackson, 82, of Antwerp passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville.
Jay was born in Cecil on April 5, 1932, a son of the late Mary (Bakle) and Jay Jackson.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and worked at Navistar. He was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Parish; Antwerp VFW & Conservation Club and enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Card Room.
On Dec. 2, 1961 Jay married Billie Jean Vail.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Billie Jean; children, Lilly “Jacqui” DeLauer of Columbus; Leonard (Rose) of Grabill, IN, Kevin & Robert (Susan) both of Mark Center, Phillip (Stacy) of Cecil, Eric of Antwerp, Jennie (Jason) Saylor of Mark Center & William (Emily) of Fort Wayne; 21 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren.
Jay was also preceded in death by his siblings, Ruth Dysinger, Alice Miller, Violet Noneman, Pauline Shong, John, Donald, Paul, Joe & Bob Jackson.
His funeral mass is Tuesday, 11 am Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Antwerp.
Viewing is Monday, 2-4 & 6-7:30 pm with a Vigil & Rosary service at 7:30 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp. Viewing is also Tuesday, 9:30 – 10:30 am at the funeral home.
He will be laid to rest at Rochester Cemetery with military honors.
