Lady Raiders Take Sectionals!

The Sectional Championship game between the Fayette Eagles and the Lady Raiders took place on the last day of February. The Saturday evening game began a little late after Pettisville crushed the Lady Archers in their final match.
Playing for blood, both teams were after the game. Quite clearly there were no domination going on. The first quarter finished at a dead tie. Erin Mohr had several beautiful three point baskets.
By the end of the second quarter it was nice to see the Raiders gather a slight lead at 28-33.
The third quarter was a struggle for the home team. The Lady Raiders ended up falling behind and scaring all of their fans. At this point Mohr was being guarded tightly and Shayna Temple and Danae Myers were able to pick up the slack. Gracie Gudakunst was also doing a great job with very aggressive plays in the fourth quarter. Throughout the period the Lady Raiders not only gained the lead but were able to climb the point ladder slowly until the clock ran out.
The Lady Raiders really pulled their game together in the last half of the season. They will go on to complete against Pettisville on Thursday, March 5 at 6:15 pm.
