Wayne Trace will take on the Archers in the first game of Districts in Van Wert on Tuesday, March 10 at 8 pm.
The Raiders, steeped in victory for the regular season, is seeded number one in their District bracket. The sectional championship began following the North Central surprise defeat of Hilltop.
From the beginning of the early game on Saturday evening, the Raiders commandeered the match, leaving no game for the Eagles. The points were spread across the roster for this evening’s match for the Wayne Trace team. The half finished at 36-16. North Central was sinking quickly into the abyss.
The second half began and several 3 point baskets were put in between Darius Hale, Ethan Linder, Corbin Linder, and Luke Miller. Miller had a nice streak of outer limit scores and ended up with 12 points altogether, tying with Corbin for the night.
The top scorer was Ethan Linder, who so elegantly slides the ball through the defense, dazzling the audience.
Much of the third and fourth quarters had the second team in showing their skills to keeping the points on the rise. Alec Vest added four points to the board while Justin Speice tacked on six.
Steven Williams posted the top scores for the guest team. Altogether the game had a difference of 10-3, 3-point baskets. Wayne Trace had no problem in this match.
The game finished at 69-34.
Since Antwerp won their game against Stryker, Wayne Trace will take on the Archers in the first game of Districts in Van Wert on Tuesday, March 10 at 8 pm.
The Raiders are now 21-1 and North Central finished their season at 3-21.
After the game, the Raiders celebrated their Sectional Championship win by cutting down the nets and taking a team picture on the court.
