COMMENTS ON VERA BRADLY ANNOUNCEMENT
NEW HAVEN MAYOR TERRY E. McDONALD
New Haven, Indiana – Mayor Terry McDonald offers the following comments in reaction to the recent announcement from Vera Bradley in New Haven.
The City of New Haven has been advised of Vera Bradley’s plans to close their manufacturing facility at the Adams Center road location here in New Haven. Mayor McDonald has been in contact with the company and has received information that Vera Bradley is working with each of their employees that will be affected by this decision.
Mayor McDonald said, “The City of New Haven is of course deeply saddened to hear the news that 246 people will no longer be working at the Vera Bradley facility located on Adams Center Road. We stand ready to work with our partners at Work One, and GFW, Inc. as we find ways to help the families affected by the closure. We will work aggressively to market and find a company to fill the campus.”
The elimination of any jobs is of great concern and we will work with our partners at Northeast Indiana Works and the WorkOne Northeast Center to assist affected individuals.
