This coming Tuesday, March 24th, from 12:00-6:00 p.m., Jerry Zielke, director of the Paulding County Economic Development is excited to realize one of his goals for the development of Paulding County – offering a place to bring together educators, employers and potential employees for the betterment of Paulding County.
“The real focus is building a better and stronger work force in the county,” commented Jerry. “We want employers to see that we have a well-trained, willing workforce that is ready to go. In order to do this, we all have to work together.”
Employers that are scheduled to be on hand on the 24th include Baughman Tile Company, Cooper Farms, Haviland Drainage Products, Haviland Plastic Products, Herbert E. Orr Company, McDonalds-Paulding, Paulding Putnam Electric Co-op, Taylor Made Glass Systems, and the US Army & Marines Recruiting Center.
The day will also be filled with education and training and scholarship presentations.
From 12:00 Noon – 12:30 p.m., Dathy Keller, DBA, director at Small Business Development Cernter at Rhodes State-Lima and Charlie Chamber, CPA, CMA, CGMA, director at Manurfacturing Technology Small Business Development Center-Toledo will present “Small Business Assistance Programs.”
12:30–1:30 p.m. – The International Trade Assistance Center will continue the discussion on Small Business Assistance Programs.
1:00-1:30 p.m. – Vantage Career Center-Van Wert will be available to talk about Adult Educational Opportunities at Vantage.
1:30-2:00 p.m. – Innovative Strategic Training Achieving Results-iStar-NWSCC will present about the Innovative Strategic Training Achieving Results Programs
2:00-2:30 p.m. – Kristine Gross of University of Northwestern Ohio-Lima will present “Successful resume writing and interviewing
2:30-3:00 p.m. – Amy McMaster, L.S.W., coordinator, and Amy Thomas, education coordinator of Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission-Defiance will be talking about Individual Development Services
3:00-3:30 p.m. – Michael Jacobs with Admissions at Northwest State Community College-Archbold will talk about the educational opportunities at Northwest State Community College
3:30-4:00 p.m. – Meredith Kincaid with Admissions at The Ohio State University-Lima will be on hand to talk about the educational opportunities at The Ohio State University-Lima
4:00-4:30 p.m. – Chad Teman with Admissions at Rhodes State College-Lima will explore the opportunities available at Rhodes State College
4:30-5:00 p.m. – Stacey Pickens of Ohio Means Jobs of Paulding County will be showing off their new website and how to use it
5:00-5:30 p.m. – Kristine Gross with University of Northwestern Ohio will be presenting “Successful Resume Writing & Interviewing
5:30-6:00 p.m. – Vantage Career Center will again be available to share about educational opportunities at Vantage Career Center
