Edward J. McCalla, 74, died Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville.
Born on May 2, 1940, in Antwerp, Ohio, he was the son of the late Eugene and Catherine (Heck) McCalla
On June 26, 1965, he was united in marriage to Judy Anderson and she survives.
Ed was owner of McCalla Excavating along with his son. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Hicksville.
Ed is survived by his wife Judy, one son, John (Janet) McCalla of Hicksville; grandson Jason; siblings, Delores (Mike) Hicov of Howey, Florida, Pat (Pete) Vasquez of Tavares, Florida, Mary (Jake) Moreman of The Villages, Florida, Cindy McCalla of Austin, Texas, Mike of Merritt Island, Florida, Dave (Judy) of Dallas, Texas, Chuck of Richardson, Texas, Tony (Cheryl) of Grapevine, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his son, Peter and a brother, Bob.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Hicksville. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville. Father Dave Cirata will officiate.
